A graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Vikrant worked in the corporate sector for twenty-five years before shifting to the field of education. The screenplay of film is adapted from the a novel of the same name by Milind Bokil. Inamdar's Rau: The Great Love Story of Bajirao Mastani and Shahenshah: The Life of Aurangzeb, and Ranjit Desai's Shivaji: The Great Maratha Warrior. Shala is a 2011 Marathi drama / romantic film. Vikrant pande started translating from the Marathi with Ranjit Desai's classic novel Raja Ravi Varma, the story of India's most celebrated painter. He has received several awards, including the Best Literature Award by the Maharashtra Foundation. He writes both fiction and non-fiction and has more than a dozen books (short stories, novels, travelogues and sociological studies) to his credit, some of which are Zen Garden, Ekam, Ran Durga and Samudra, Samudraparche Samaj.

He was part of the Sampoorna Kranti movement led by Jayaprakash Narayan in the 1970s, and since then has been associated with various civil society organizations. Milind bokil is a Marathi writer and sociologist.
